And who truly deserves you as well
Sometimes you always have to be left behind
To be content being alone and know the real value of independence

Sometimes you have to be unafraid
To know how to become strong once more
Sometimes you have to get sick
To know that you have been neglecting your health

Sometimes you have to be brokenhearted
To learn how to love yourself back
Sometimes you have to cry
To know how to smile and laugh again

Sometimes you have to be in the dark
To know that there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel
Sometimes you have to go through round and round circles
To know certain life patterns

Sometimes you have to commit mistakes
To know that you are only human
Sometimes you have to be mad
To know that you’ve kept a lot of resentment and bottled up emotions far too long

Sometimes you have to be frank
To learn how to assert yourself
Sometimes you have to be trapped in the labyrinths of your past choices
and present immobility and indecision
To know that there’s an end to all of these

To know how to stand up on your own
And sometimes you just have to die
